The dairy farming sector is spread throughout the rural regions, but the economic importance of this sector varies widely from one region to another. Clusters in which dairy farming is economically dominant are quite sizeable; and they are located in the provinces of Utrecht, North Holland, South Holland and Friesland as well as in the southern and eastern parts of the Netherlands.
