15/01/2019 |
In November 2018, consumer prices for fresh fruit declined by 4.5%. Other consumer prices increased compared with October 2018. Although price increases for eggs (+0.3%) and milk (+1%) were limited, increases for potatoes, beef, pork and fresh vegetables were higher than 2%. For bread the price increase was even 3%. The largest farm-gate price increase in November was for eggs. With a price that was 7.1% higher, this was the only product that provided the farmer with considerably more revenues in October than in November. The prices for grains (+0.2%), potatoes (-0.1%) and pork (-0.3%) did not change much, but the milk price decreased by 2%. The price decrease for cattle and broilers was even stronger: the price index decreased by 3.6% and 4.5%, respectively. |
